What is a Tour

The Academic Tour is a short empirical journey with high-quality content. The programme is tailor-made, developed for a specific target group in a specific situation. Spread over a few days, participants visit several higher education institutes within one or more countries. These institutes are chosen for their expertise or experience in a particular field of higher education. The Tour is intentionally small-scale: the number of participants is limited to twenty. The Tour lasts several days, the amount of time necessary to digest the acquired knowledge and impressions.

Duration and Dates

These tours and visits can be arranged any time of the year, as per your specification, and the duration can be varied from a week to six weeks, to even a few months, to suit your needs and requirements for these tours.

The Academic Tour is tailor-made, so there are several versions available e.g.

• Summer Placement Study & Training Programme for students studying diploma, honours, masters and doctorate in any fields e.g. management, computer sciences, engineering
• Academic tour for head teachers / principals / directors of colleges and further education providers.
• Academic tour for Lecturers, professors, and deans of universities

Top ranked universities e.g. Cambridge, Oxford, London School of Economics, Aston University

Business Tours

This tour is specifically designed for those already/ planning to enter the professional working environment.

Professionals from Business, Industry, Education,

• Government, Trade and Commerce: Under this category, applications are welcome from general manager, managing director, partner, CEO, owners, administrator, principal, and director of government, private and public business and services.
• Graduates and qualified persons without relevant experience : Under this category, applications are welcome from graduates and post graduates from the fields of business administration, individual members of business and professional associations and qualified individuals.
• Business tour includes: Industrial and Business Visits include multinational companies and corporate e.g. Cadbury world, Bank of England, London Stock Exchange, Local public institute e.g. hospital, city council.

Language-Tours

Where you can study, travel, learn, discover, and explore a new culture of British and Europe. Students studying at Colleges, higher education institutes, universities from overseas are welcome to join.

Themes will be presented in relation to strategic concepts. However, some topics demand a detailed approach. In that case, the target-group will consist of staff members or specialists in a particular field.

Specialised Tours

This tour can be designed and tailor made to meet your specific requirement, e.g. for individuals interested in various fields such as construction, laws investment, trading, can request special arrangements that will help them enhance their knowledge and experience in these subjects.

Cultural visits

We also organise many Cultural visits during all tours, so that you can get a taste for the UK. Which includes places such as: Buckingham Palace, London Tower Bridge, the London Dungeon, Madame Tussauds, London Eye etc.

Other famous cities and tourist place and national parks and castles, so that you can truly enjoy a British Experience!

Accommodation

The College will also provide support for participants wishing to organize their own accommodation, providing lists of suitable hotels, hostels and bed and breakfast facilities.

Programme Tuition fee

The tuition fee varies and depends on the programme chosen. A tuition fee invoice and payment form will be sent to applicants once they have been accepted onto the programme. The full tuition fee is payable once the formal offer has been made. Further details regarding payment will be detailed on the invoice.

The College has 100% refund policy for which the original copy of VISA refusal letter issued by British Embassy is required. The College regards you as an overseas student for fee purpose and the fee must be paid in Sterling only. Please make a bank draft payable to Birmingham College. Students could transfer the tuition fees from their bank account to the College bank account directly also.

Orientation and student support

From the moment of arrival, staffs are on hand to welcome and support international students. It also offers a chance to meet fellow students in a relaxed atmosphere before studies begin. The programme covers everything from culture shock and using the underground to the differences in UK study methods and programme planning. The schedule also includes, free of charge, a guided tour of central Birmingham and a special night `out on the town'.

Social and cultural life

There are also plenty of ways to relax and enjoy life. There are sports facilities, including a state of the art health and fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool, the shops, bars, restaurants and museums, Library, Canal, Cinemas are 5-15 minutes away from the College building.

Insurance & Claim

All students are requested to take Travel insurance/health insurance before departing to the programme. The College will not be responsible / liable for any mishaps/accidents that may occur during your stay in the UK.
