Police Registration

You may have a stamp in your passport telling you that you are required to register with the police within seven days of your arrival in the UK. Failure to register with the police, if required to do so, is a criminal offence, and could lead to prosecution.

The Police station is open for registration between 8.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday. The cost is £34, which you will need to pay by cash or cheque. You will also need to take your passport, two passport-sized photographs, and your letter of acceptance from the College. There is no need to make an appointment.

Anyone who is required to register must report to the police each time they are granted an extension of their permission to stay in the UK. You should also inform the police of any change of address within seven days. There is no additional charge for this. If you have dependant family members with you, please check to see if the requirement to register has been stamped into their passports. Children under the age of 16 are not required to register.
