Introduction
English is widely accepted as the international language of business. English is also ‘the’ international language - 85 percent of the Internet is in English, three-quarters of the world's mail is written in English, and it is the official language of the Olympic Games. In fact, the World Trade Organization debriefs, meets, and publicizes in English even if the representatives are from countries where English is not the native language. Top executives, managers, CEOs, and other business professionals, from a variety of corporate backgrounds, require these unique skills. English is global.
Our Business English course prepares participants to negotiate a diverse business world using English in the international context providing the future leaders and business innovators of tomorrow with the right ‘toolkit’ for effective communication skills necessary for operating in a global environment.

Course Details
The Business English Course helps participants who will benefit by using English in workplace and social situations. Language skills are developed through many stimulating, realistic and interactive activities. Learner independence training activities are also included.

Birmingham College will provide online support from qualified ELT or subject specialists on request.
Resources
Birmingham College will provide all resources including course materials, presentations, CDs, DVDs, Audio & Video tapes, books, journals, and/or magazines that may be required to deliver the course.

Average Hour Requirements
The course is delivered online and each course requires a minimum of 100 hours of self-directed study and online assessment preparation for 10 credits to be awarded
Award / qualification after completion
- Upon successful completion of any of the single course having a total of 10 credits, Birmingham College will award the ‘Certificate in Business English’
- Upon successful completion of any two of the courses having a total of 20 credits, Birmingham College will award the ‘Executive Certificate in Business English’
- Upon successful completion of any three of the courses having a total of 30 credits, Birmingham College will award the ‘Advanced Certificate in Business English’
- Upon successful completion of any four of the courses having a total of 50 credits Birmingham College will award the ‘Diploma in Business English’
- Upon successful completion of any five of the courses having a total of total 70 credits, Birmingham College will award the ‘Advanced Diploma in Business English’
- Upon successful completion of any six of the courses having a total of total 100 credits, Birmingham College will award the ‘Higher Diploma in Business English’
