Birmingham College is located at the heart of the Birmingham city centre. As a cosmopolitan described by many as England's 'most vibrant city', this cosmopolitan city described by many as England's 'most vibrant city'. Birmingham offers safety, excellent public transportation, diverse restaurants, cafes and eateries, a range of entertainment venues, relatively low cost of living, clean, pollution-free environment and an excellent lifestyle, etc.
The College currently consists of the following three schools that offer a wide range of professional education and training programs.
- School of Management.
- School of Health and Social Care.

To enable students to reach their full potential by providing them with desired education and training opportunities within an excellent learning environment, and to serve the needs of business and community at local, national and international levels.

The college shall become a ‘globally’ recognized destination of education and training and a best platform in Birmingham for high quality education and training opportunities which are accessible, beneficial, relevant and innovative to international students and business communities worldwide. The Governance
The College has an instrument of governance, which defines the Memorandum of Association and Article of Association in accordance with which the College is to be administered and managed.
The Executive Board Committee is set up to oversee the way in which the College is run and to make sure it delivers the courses to reflect the highest professional and ethical standards, and to make effective use of the available resources. It is responsible for the financial solvency of the College, its sound management and the quality of the service it provides.
The members of the Executive Board Committee consist of renowned academics, successful business people and the College Principal.
Academic and Administrative Structure
A number of committees have been established which concentrate on various aspects of the College.

UK - India Business Development Centre
The India Business Development Centre is part of Birmingham College and managed by prominent professional individuals in the field of Management, Accountancy, Law, Property and Estate, Higher Education, Commerce and Industry. The Business Centre is an independent, professional unit specialising in the promotion of business and commercial links between the UK and India.
China-UK Platform – a place where business and academic links develop together
This professional platform aims to facilitate relations and co-operation between business and academic institutes based in China and The UK. The Platform is part of Birmingham College and managed by prominent professional individuals from both countries.
Business & Academic Trips
Business and Academic trips are organised every month for business communities. The duration of the trip is from one week to four weeks and could be made as per requirements for the clients. During the visit, we take our participants to prestigious places such as London Stock Exchange, Bank of England and leading British Business and Industries. It also includes visiting tourist places, wel-known universities and public services.
Summer Placement Study & Training Programmes
We organise special Summer Placement Study & Training Programmes that prepare students for taking up professional management roles at international level and provide an opportunity to exchange experiences, enhance career opportunities and explore opportunities of studying / working in the UK every year. 10 trips will be organised in 2008
Medical Tourism Expo
We organise Medical Tourism Expo with leading media corporate companies every year in the UK’s most influential multicultural cities e.g. London, Birmingham.

Infrastructure
Birmingham College prides itself on offering students a welcoming and modern learning environment with a variety of study and leisure facilities including:
- Two large lecture theatres

- Two computer labs with free internet access
- A beautiful café and eating areas
Library
A wide range of resources and services including texts, periodicals, journals are available. All core books in minimum 5 to 10 copies are available. Additional to the core books, books recommended by lecturers are also available for extra reading. A request from students for a new book related to the course can be fulfilled within 7 days.
The Library is a useful starting point for your study and research needs. It stocks books and other materials relevant to your courses. It also has a good selection of reference materials including books, periodicals (some with online accessibility), and reserve articles. There are also novels and DVDs (region 2) available for loan.
Books may be borrowed for three weeks with the exception of Reference books (indicated by a label) which may not leave the library. Fines are charged at 20p per day per book. You can renew books at any time, including outside of library hours, by sending an email. A photocopier and printers are available in the library for student use.
The BMI also includes The Birmingham Library, founded in 1779 and contains 100,000 volumes. The library located at the first floor.
The Birmingham City’s Central Library is less then a minute walking distance from the College. The Library is full of resources, equipped with modern IT facilities. We make our students member of the Library and Students could borrow up to 10 books at a time if required.
In the UK, students are expected to be proactive when choosing what to read from their reading lists. Librarians do not provide lists of suggested books and they do not select books for you. The College library may not stock all of the books on your reading list and it might be necessary to visit one of the many excellent libraries to be found in Birmingham.
Students studying at the College have access the combination of databases, full text, and OCLC FirstSearch Electronic Collections Online service journals that help their study and research works. Please contact the college for access and usage information.

Founded in 1967, OCLC Online Computer Library Center is a nonprofit, membership, computer library service and research organization dedicated to the public purposes of furthering access to the world's information and reducing the rate of rise of library costs. More than 60,000 libraries in 112 countries and territories around the world use OCLC services to locate, acquire, catalog, lend and preserve library materials
Every student of the Birmingham College is entitled to get a comprehensive range of support services run or supported by the College to address any problems, concerns, etc., that may occur during their stay.
Depending on their respective culture, the Services offered include a Disability and Learning Support Service, a Counselling Service, the Career / Job search service and Accommodation service. Discretion is assured at all times.
Students may seek advice or guidance before they select a new study programme or during the course for their future interests and better planning from their Head of Schools, Teachers and Student Counsellors in the College.
The counselling is undertaken by several tutors using established models e.g. Kolb, to improve student learning techniques. Sometimes the student requires ‘soft’ support in developing their confidence, motivation and punctuality.
Drop-in Advice
Students are very welcome to drop-in and see the staff for advice or guidance during one of the following drop-in sessions
Monday 1.00pm to 2.00 pm.
Friday 1.00pm to 2.00 pm.
If unable to drop-in during one of the scheduled sessions, we request them to arrange a suitable appointment.
Accommodation
The College guarantees to source accommodation for all international students. Accommodation at affordable cost (our students pay from £35 per week compared to £65 paid by other students studying at local universities).

VISA Extension
To continue further studies at the College, students must submit their passports to the Admissions Officer to enable the college to apply for a visa extension on student's behalf, strictly as per UK Home Office regulations. The Admissions Officer will look after all correspondence and preparation of documentation for the Home Office in UK. The College does not take any responsibility if the visa extension is not approved.
Bank Account
We have made arrangements with banks e.g. HSBC, Barclays, ICICI, NetWest, Halifax to open bank accounts for our students. Applications forms with information packs are available at the College.
On arrival at the College, all students are briefed about the procedures of opening a bank account in Birmingham for which necessary bank references may be provided by the College. Students are recommended to carry with them a bank reference issued by the bank in their country of origin.
Free Internet Facility
Employment
Full time Students can legally work 20 hours during and 40 hours between semesters. The College provides an advisory service to students on how to find part time employment. On the notice board, jobs are displayed.

We provide all support and guidance to get National Insurance No. and start procedures within a week of enrolment.

A strong emphasis on the social entertainment of our students: Football & Cricket matches, cultural evenings, guest speakers and most importantly programmes to help students to integrate with local Communities e.g. Indian (Gujarati, Punjabi, South Indian), Chinese, Muslims, Asian.
Provide information on opportunity to apply for a number of international scholarships and bursaries.
A city council central library is less than a minute walk from the College and all students studying at the college are entitled to borrow up to 14 books at a time. On the first floor of the Library is the ‘Business Centre’ where plenty of materials such as business reports, magazines, articles, references are available.
Occasionally, the College takes MBA, MPhil and PhD students to local university library e.g. Birmingham City Council, Aston Uni, Warwick Uni, Birmingham University and Birmingham City University.
